ERASMUS+ project

We did it! In early 2022 La Luna nel Pozzo receives the communication from the National Agency Erasmus+ Indire that the submitted project has been approved, official “code 2021-2-IT02-KA210-ADU-000051026”. Off you go!

To accompany us on this adventure we invited our friends from the Association La Inefable of Barcelona to introduce us to the wonders of sensory theatre, and of course we could not do without another long-standing partner, our friends from the incredible and visionary inclusive work community called Eins und Alles (“One and All”), located in Welzheim, near Stuttgart, managed by the Christopherus association, which inspires us so much as a model of social and work inclusiveness towards which the whole of society could strive. Here at Luna we have been trying to do this with Orthia, our fledgling inclusive social project in nature.

This Small Scale Erasmus+ partnership project was born out of a desire to explore and celebrate biodiversity in nature and in society, not only using the classic cognitive language, but trying it ‘In All Senses’. And so, our joint artistic research between partners went through the magic of sensory theatre and the spontaneity of the Lunar Clowning actors, dialogued with the language and therapeutic capacities of animals, observed and acquired from nature the sense of care and regeneration; we immersed ourselves in the forests of EinsUndAlles dotted with incredible sensory installations and intertwined sculptural art with the landscape of the trulli; we nourished with theatrical sap the small-but-always-greater forest that has been growing here at Luna for the past twenty years.

Like every good Erasmus+ project, there were exchanges of skills and methodologies and several international meetings in Italy and Germany, thanks to which the social and artistic workers involved, belonging both to partner organisations and to other external realities, participated in training workshops in sensory theatre by La Inefable and in clown theatre by La Luna nel Pozzo; In addition, job shadowing activities were conducted with the German contact person of the Eins Und Alles “Animal Oasis” who supervised La Luna nel Pozzo’s animal management staff; and a workshop in Land Art was held in Ostuni by master sculptor Hansjorg Palm, author of the Welzheim Forest installations. In each of these activities, they always worked together with adults with different abilities.

We ‘finished’ in May 2023 with the last week of workshops and the final two-day festival open to the public, the community, and local institutions. The festival guests were involved in a participatory World Café on the theme of Inclusion and Biodiversity, were guided by the inhabitants of the forest in sensory-theatre tours, got to know the local animals, walked in Orthia’s regenerative garden and vegetable garden listening to the words of its permaculture designer Mattia Pantaleoni, and participated in the intense moment of the inauguration of the new big Land Art work. And again, all together in the amphitheatre in nature at the final Clown Down!
