2024 has been a marvelous year of leaps and bounds, setbacks, celebrations, seeds and fires and something altogether new rising from the ashes.

Many of you know our van was burned in early summer. That fire was a significant event for us. We better learned who we are: our response was free of anger, free of fear — and that response resonated in a community which seemed prepared to hear such words. I quote from our May newsletter:

Community is a fragile art, based on good faith and maximum listening. In a certain sense, listening is what we’ve been practicing for the past 25 years.

Our summer festival, under the artistic direction of Alessandro, has become an exercise in community-building, in which our audience, juvenile and adult, lives an ever-expanding sense of the wonder of playing together in this magical place…

In Natascia’s capable hands, our “Orthia” project is becoming a cornucopia: our weekly gatherings have created two important seed banks, one in collaboration with the international organization “Climavore”, one with the university of Bari’s “Biodiverso” project. We’ve opened our “Sunday at Orthia” project, outings with wild-green spotting events, lectures on the coevolution of seeds and humanity, 0 km buffets, music and much joy and laughter.

Together with our artistic soulmates, “Wayfarer’s Roots”, we’ve created a new show, DREAMBORN. It’s an amazing shaman adventure told through physical theater, clown, dance and music. Natascia, Pia and I are back on the boards again! The “Wayfarers” are now in a perennial residence here, offering their profound and nuanced dance education from la Luna’s corner of heaven.

We continue our community-building through our permanent inclusive theater workshop “AcHademy”, as well as formation on the theme of listening through theatrical techniques.

We still have a lot to do, enabling the life of the many communities which bind us — often invisibly and inexplicably — to our lives and Life here on this precious planet.

This is not just our project. It’s our children’s.

Now we just want to take this occasion to say thank you, to each and all of you, for your wonderful and wide-eyed participation in this adventure.
