TEATRI SENZA TETTO (“Roofless Theatres”)
Teatri
Senza Tetto is a permanent workshop of theatre artisans who have
decided to create a “home” where they can do
interdisciplinary research, free of the market mentality
of most “professional” theatre. Puglian by birth or
adoption, some of the most interesting realities in Italian theatre
have decided to meet at La Luna nel Pozzo to take part
in this ongoing experiment. TsT is not, and does not intend
to be, a theatrical “company”, but rather a movement,
in which each group, maintaining its own autonomy, has an opportunity
for profound artistic dialogue among peers.
Actors, puppeteers, musicians, storytellers and dancers:
artistic “journeymen” who, tired of their solitude,
have simply decided to open instead of closing, to share, instead
of hoarding.
In this way we hope to find our path, new or old as it may be; to
maintain our balance in these unsettling times.
With the success of the two shows presented in public squares (“Solstuni”
in Ostuni in 2005, “Col Mare Dentro”
in Brindisi in 2006), TsT has opened a relation with the
territory through performance in places of great historical and
artistic interest, natural settings for unique theatrical events.
These shows have given vast audiences (2000 spectators in Ostuni)
a new and magical vision of the city.
At this time, TsT consists of six groups: La Luna nel Pozzo,
Ostuni; Armamaxa teatro, Milano/Foggia;
La Luna nel Letto, Ruvo di Puglia; Burambò,
Foggia; Casarmonica, Ceglie Messapica; Qualibò,
Bari.
