Inspired by Ovid’s ‘Metamorphoses’, “KiSaKiSaRò”
is a theatrical game full of surprising transformations, seen through
the eyes of a young child, and accompanied by her poetry. In fact,
much of the text was written by a 6 year-old.
“KiSaKiSaRò” touches on some themes
which loom large in childhood: impulsivity, the feeling of not being
understood, the torment of having a terrible secret, magic and animism,
the dream of flight, the joy of creating and inhabiting a world
of fantasy…
Children transform continuously, growing through tumultous changes,
inventing and abandoning personalities. There’s nothing strange
about metamorphoses for the child, who knows intimately, if metaphorically,
Death and Ribirth.
In a game of musical and visual transformations, we have the pleasure
of leading the spectator through the world of Greek myth, into that
magic place where transformation is the stuff of every day. The
trip is a pleasure for young and old!
