HOSTING ARTISTIC RESEARCH

Space is a fundamental element for theatre. La Luna nel Pozzo, with its ample and varied spaces for artistic creation (studio, workshop and amphitheatre) and accommodation, is an ideal place to host artistic companies who need a space for retreat and creation in an environment which allows them to concentrate fully on the work, and where the daily rhythms support a harmonious group life.

Important features for artistic work are:

• a heated studio space, 100 m2, wood ceiling and parquet floor, which hosts workshops, rehearsals and small productions all year long
• a limestone amphitheatre, constructed in the traditional local method, with a circular stone stage 12 m in diameter. It has excellent acoustics, seats over 300 spectators, and offers electric lighting and sound without losing its antique aspect
• infrastructure and services for receiving artists and public
• accommodation for 20-25 guests
  

Every year, La Luna nel Pozzo offers hospitality to the numerous companies who participate in the summer festival, Teatri di Terra (“Theatres of Earth”). This artistic residence is the opportunity for companies to meet and witness one another’s work, eat and drink together .
Between resident spectators and international artists, you will often find four languages spoken at the dinner table.
These interweaved social and artistic encounters have created a rich artistic ferment, bringing to light new exchanges and collaborations which extend from the local territory to the national and international scene.
In this way, an ever-richer and wider human network is created around the Luna nel Pozzo.

“TEATRI SENZA TETTO” (“Roofless Theatres”), co-promoted by Luna nel Pozzo with Armamaxa teatro, has become a permanent workshop, open to the young and dynamic theatrical realities of the region. We value this among our richest collaborations.
